"MQTT connect" Accelerates conanair Data Integration

We have released "MQTT connect" as a free plugin to provide simple diagnosis data from the conanair wireless vibration sensor to other systems. By using this plugin, it becomes possible to automatically and periodically deliver (Publish) vibration trend data (summary data such as velocity RMS values and acceleration peak values) acquired by conanair to an MQTT Broker (MQTT Server). This makes data integration with on-site PLCs (sequencers), existing production management systems, SCADA, and various IoT platforms overwhelmingly easier.

conanair's greatest strength is its "precision diagnosis (anomaly prediction)" for bearings using "10-second raw data (waveforms)" based on patented technology, which can be easily executed with the included FFT analysis app. However, in actual manufacturing sites and plants, there is a significant need for "simple diagnosis," where the goal is to "first monitor the trend (changes over time) of vibration values, and perform precision diagnosis only when the values increase." The standard flow of predictive maintenance is to capture signs of anomalies (rising trends) through simple diagnosis, and then identify the root cause (unbalance, bearing flaws, etc.) through precision diagnosis.


Minimizing System Development Effort

"MQTT connect" is a powerful tool to automate this simple diagnosis and integrate it with external systems. It extracts only summary values from the data files created for each measurement and periodically delivers them as lightweight trend data to upper-level systems (such as PLCs acting as MQTT Subscribers via an MQTT Broker). Since data can be received using the standard MQTT protocol without the need to build special programs from scratch, a smart predictive maintenance structure can be built with significantly reduced system development effort.

  • A cloud environment (internet connection) is not mandatory
    It can be operated entirely within a closed local network inside a factory that is not connected to external networks.
